What Happens In a Therapeutic Session
Prior to seeing any client, I speak to them on the phone to assess their personal needs before then sending them a set of client notes. This set of notes contains crucial questions including the following:
- What do you want from a session?
- How will you know when you have it?
The client notes need to be returned prior to the first appointment. Many clients have discovered that even the act of filling in the form often has a useful therapeutic effect in itself!
I use a combination of different skills in client sessions that can include NLP, Hypnosis and other approaches. Many clients are surprised at the success of this non analytical targeted approach which has been described as being very different to traditional counselling and psychotherapy.
Each session is recorded and I often give clients the session on CD to listen to before a follow up meeting. I successfully treat a high proportion of client conditions in 1 to 2 sessions depending on their specific needs. In private practice I receive referrals from Paul McKenna Training, the 'Just Be Well' network as well as many other sources, so I advise booking in advance to secure an appointment.
